Is this improper use of a semi colon?
Every character is a mocking bird; Tom Robinson is crippled and black, something he can't help and he tries to make the best of everything and work hard for his family; Mayella was just a poor girl trapped in her own prison of poverty trying to find love in the world, not trying to harm anyone at all; Scout was merely just a little girl doing what she thought was right and what she knew, and everyone was trying to tell her what to be and how to act; Jem was just a young teenage boy coming into his own, not meaning any harm to anyone, just trying to figure himself out; Miss Maudie was doing no harm with her flowers, and the “foot washers” felt the need to criticize her for them; Atticus wasn't doing anything wrong at all, just defending Tom Robinson and doing what he thought right to do, but everyone was against him; Mr. Raymond and how everyone judged they way he lived even though he was just living life how he thought it should be lived; Arthur Radley because of how the kids would in a way taunt him to come out of his housebut he was just staying safe inside his cage not doing anything wrong. This line can be used in so many different ways for so many different characters in the book that it really is the most important quote.
