Was the Cherokee Nation ever paid the $5 million they agreed to take for the 8 milllion acres they owned in?

in Georgia? Even though they attempted the fate of other tribes through acculturation, had their own schools, newspapwers, alphabet, elected legislature and a permanent capitol at New Echota, they ended up dividing into two factions. The one for leaving and the other to fight and actually the Supreme Court ruled in their favor. Unfortunately gold was found in northern Georgia and thus the "Trail of Tears". Thanks.
