Pre approved for a loan THEN co signing?

Ok so my parents got pre approved for a loan for a house but haven't had the closing yet. I need a co signer to get an apartment for the next year of school and i need it now. If they co-sign with me is it even remotely possibly that they will no longer qualify for the loan any longer and can no longer get it?
